The Photographer’s Dilemma

By: Macedonian

I’m going to switch gears this week and talk about something else that I’m passionate about: photography. For many years there has been this debate over which camera is better: Nikon or Canon? Well, I am here today to tell you that neither Nikon nor Canon holds a candle to Leica. It makes no difference whether you’re buying one of Leica’s M9 (a beautiful handheld digital camera who’s picture quality compares to a Nikon D90 or Canon EOS 50D), or their wonderful S2 37.5 mega pixel digital SLR who’s quality is unsurpassed by any company in the world. All Leica cameras are hand made in Germany and have been since they were first produced in 1914. Both Nikon and Canon cameras are made on assembly lines in China by unskilled workers who need jobs, not by artisans who take pride in their work, which is the case with Leica. So, for all of you people debating over which cheap cameras are better, STOP! Both Nikon and Canon have their good points and bad points and both are decent cameras. Pick whatever brand you want, stick with it and don’t try and go changing other people’s minds. Enjoy photography and worry about taking great pictures, not having a better camera than your neighbor. You’re going to spend quite a bit more money on a Leica camera than you would on a Nikon or Canon, in fact the Leica M9 is a point and shoot by principle and costs about the same as a Nikon D3s. However, if you are interested in buy a high quality camera and taking amazing picture Leica is worth the investment.
